Rats vs Mice

Most people think mice and rats belong to the same category, but they are different. Below, we will explain the difference not only in format but in their living style, behavior, and other major differences that will help you to differentiate among mice and rats.

Behavior

Both of them have opposite behavior; you can remember them by being curious or cautions.

Curious

Mice are curious; they will try to investigate every new thing that came in front of them. This is the reason to trap mice as easy as compare to trap a rat.

Cautious

Rats do not get closer to new things until they did not get familiar with them. People who are going to use trap they should place them in their paths once they get familiar to it, then you can use peanut butter or nuts at the top of the trap to attract them.

Characteristics

They have more than 70 species, but 3 of them are more famous that are given below:

They have a light body, long ear with no hair. They have a dark shaded body with a grey color. Their dropping looks like spindles.

Norway rats

Mouse vs. rat size matter

The major difference between rats and mouse is their size. The house mice size ranges from 2-4 inches only. On the other hand, Norway rat size ranges from seven to nine inches in length. Anyhow people may get confused because young rat looks like mice, but you can differentiate them on the basis of their body texture and dropping.
